CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
EU citizens travelling within the EU can shop without quantity or value restrictions. The only restrictions in force refer to tobacco and alcohol. In a EU country where you aren't a resident you can purchase: 90 litres of wine, 110 litres of beer, 20 litres of aperitif (less than 22 % alcohol content), 10 litres of spirits (over 22 % alcohol content), 800 cigarettes per person/trip, VAT has to be paid in the country of origin.
Switzerland has some import restrictions in place. Merchandise exempt of Swiss import duty includes: personal travel goods and travel provisions, alcoholic drinks (only for persons of a minimum age of 17 years): 2 litres – less than 15 %, 1 litre – more than 15 %; tobacco products (only for persons of a minimum age of 17 years): 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 g of pipe tobacco.DRY CLEANING

TÖRGGELEN (TRADITIONAL FALL CUSTOM)
Törggelen is a local fall tradition where rural restaurants offer traditional fare, roasted chestnuts and young wine. It takes place annually from about October 10th. You can get a list of the restaurants offering Törggele fare in the Terlan area at the Tourism Office.

Prepaid cards for buses and trains are available at the Tourism Office as well as at the Raiffeisenkasse Terlan (bank). The prepaid card has to be stamped before getting on the train at the green machine in the train station waiting room. You are required to enter the destination station. Single tickets and the Eventcard (train ticket and rental bike for the Vinschgau Valley) can be purchased from the ticket machine in the waiting rooms.
If you get on a train without a ticket immediately contact the conductor in order to avoid paying a supplement.
